Chemical road tanker

The chassis of LAG tank trailers is shorter. They do not extend from the rear axle assembly to the front kingpin. Because of the shape, this is called the I-chassis. Nowadays we only use this chassis for tank trucks, while we used to use box chassis. We then extend (screw) this steel chassis with a stainless steel back piece to the desired length.

The tanks are self-supporting compared to aluminum bulk trailers. The tank rests on the front of the tractor.

There are two options in choosing the chassis. Either a steel chassis is built that is extended at the front with a stainless steel intermediate chassis and a stainless steel rear section at the rear. Or the customer can order a completely stainless steel chassis.

The intermediate chassis has different properties. It houses some necessary parts of the chassis such as bicycle catchers, support legs and extra hose sleeves (optional). It strengthens the chassis and extends the I-chassis to the desired length.

We supply a steel axle chassis as standard. This is cheaper and shows no qualitative differences. A standard aluminum (optional stainless steel) bumper is placed at the rear of the chassis. The bumper must be placed to prevent cars from ending up at the bottom of a trailer in the event of a collision. The bumper should protrude furthest from the rear.

Just like with the bulk trucks, everything else is screwed to the chassis, such as axles, mudguards and toolboxes.
